Fans have been clamouring for WWE to bring back Halloween Havoc for many years. The company has even held events on October 31 as recently as last year but they decided not to revive the old WCW pay-per-view, until yesterday.

WWE announced during NXT TakeOver: 31 that Halloween Havoc will be returning on October 28 for a special edition of NXT. The show will be hosted by Shotzi Blackheart and looks set to be the scariest night of the year. Possibly even scarier than The Horror Show at Extreme Rules where Rey Mysterio almost lost his eye.

This will be the first Halloween Havoc event in 20 years. The show was a staple of World Championship Wrestling's pay-per-view calendar and featured classic matches like Goldberg vs. DDP, Big Van Vader vs. Cactus Jack in a Texas Death Match and DDP vs. Randy Savage. The event even hosted a ThunderDome Match in 1989 during which Ric Flair and Sting teamed together to defeat The Great Muta and Terry Funk.
