The jump from NXT to ‘main roster’ WWE may not always be smooth, but according to reports, Damian Priest has hit the ground running since ‘debuting’ at the WWE Royal Rumble last month.

According to Fightful Select, WWE management have been impressed by Priest’s Royal Rumble outing and subsequent run on WWE Raw, the latter of which has been inextricably linked to Latin trap star Bad Bunny.

Being in such high profile situations can be seen as both a massive amount of trust and hope placed on Priest by WWE, but also a massive test. However, behind the scenes staff at WWE have lauded Priest for how he has handled being ‘thrown in at the deep end’. One WWE employee stated that they gave Priest a full plate in his first two nights in terms of his workload, and he “did everything they could have expected”

Rumours abound that Priest is being groomed for a WrestleMania 37 marquee match alongside Bad Bunny against Miz & Morrison, but nothing has yet been confirmed. However, if this comes to fruition it would be a huge boost for Priest’s career, such is the popularity of both Bad Bunny and WrestleMania.

What is for sure, if Priest continues this strong run on WWE Raw, then it’ll surely only be a matter of time before he is given a more prominent role on WWE television.
