NXT UK held its last TakeOver show in Blackpool, England on January 12, as Kay Lee Ray retained her NXT UK Women's Championship and WALTER defeated Joe Coffey in the main event to keep hold of the NXT United Kingdom Championship.
During last night's broadcast of NXT TakeOver: Portland, WWE announced the next big show for their UK brand will be NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin on April 26 at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. The event will air live on the WWE Network.
Shortly after the announcement
, NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin tweeted: "The Irish Ace is coming home. Irish crowds always create an insane atmosphere, absolutely buzzing! #NXTTakeover #NXTUK #TakeoverDublin."
The Irish Ace then challenged WALTER to a match in his home country, as
he wrote: "Give me WALTER, you cowards. @NXTUK @JohnnySaintWWE."
The two Superstars have faced off previously in Over The Top Wrestling in what is considered one of the best Indie rivalries in recent memory. They first went one on one at WrestleRama 2 in August 2018, in which The Ring General emerged victorious and won the OTT World Championship. Devlin, however, would win the title back at ScrapperMania 5 in March 2019 as he cemented his position as The Import Killer.
Now, with Devlin calling for WWE to book the match, fans are clamouring for The Irish Ace and The Ring General to face off again.
