The relationship between TNA Wrestling and WWE NXT grew further at NXT Battleground on June 9, with TNA’s Ash by Elegance returning to NXT during the Roxanne Perez vs. Jordynne Grace bout.

Ever since Grace turned up in NXT there have been reports about more wrestlers ‘crossing the line’ between the two companies, and a report from Fightful Select has shed some light on potential TNA talents who NXT could look at working with.

One name suggested is that of Mustafa Ali, with the former WWE star having joined TNA earlier in 2024. Ali is the current reigning TNA X-Division Champion, but is not working under an exclusive TNA deal, meaning that any potential appearances on WWE programming would go through Ali himself, with it stated that any work would have to be ‘on his terms’ per sources in NXT. Ali was well liked by NXT head Shawn Michaels who had earmarked the former Retribution leader for a title run in NXT prior to Ali’s WWE exit.

There has also been some chatter about the potential of NXT working with Zachary Wentz again, with Fightful reporting in early 2023 that NXT’s stance had softened on the former Nash Carter after his 2022 WWE release and the controversy that surrounded it. Wentz is back in TNA with Trey Miguel as the Rascalz, and there is a storyline waiting right there with former Rascal Wes Lee currently involved with New Catch Republic on NXT TV.

A TNA talent interested in popping up in WWE NXT is Leon Slater and he exclusively revealed to Cultaholic Wrestling that he is open to matches with Je'Von Evans, Trick Williams, and AJ Styles.
