Report: Update On Plans For Roman Reigns' Undisputed WWE Universal Title Reign
Roman Reigns won't be losing his belts anytime soon
Sep 10, 2022
Roman Reigns appeared to face the biggest test of his Undisputed WWE Universal Title reign on September 3 as the champion went one-on-one with the UK's Drew McIntyre at Clash At The Castle. The fans inside Cardiff's Principality Stadium were ready to see a title change but Reigns ultimately ended up leaving the United Kingdom as the champion.
Despite how close the end of The Big Dog's reign appeared to be in Cardiff, there are no plans for Reigns to lose his title belts anytime soon. According to WrestlingNews.co, Reigns will remain Undisputed WWE Universal Champion through the end of 2022 and the plan is for him to still be champion at WrestleMania 39.
The hope is that Reigns will face The Rock at the 2023 edition of The Showcase of the Immortals and should the match become official, Reigns would defeat his cousin and then lose the world title sometime after WrestleMania. Reigns will also be established as a top babyface at some point after the event too.
Recent reports noted that WWE remain committed to Reigns being the top guy and they want to establish him as "the legend for this generation."
