In another world, there may have been a title change on Monday Night Raw.

After surpassing Pedro Morales' record to make him the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion even when taking combined reigns into account, Gunther defended the IC Title against Jey Uso in the main event of Raw. Uso even received a visual pin, having Gunther beat following an Uso Splash, only for the referee to become distracted after a hooded figure began to ring the bell before the three count.

The hooded figure revealed themselves to be Jimmy Uso, who was escorted away by security, but Jey decided to take out his brother with a Suicide Dive. Jey then went for a second Uso Splash but the Suicide Dive to Jimmy cost him as Gunther blocked the splash and followed up with a roll-up for the 1-2-3 and the successful Intercontinental Championship defence.

Jimmy then laid out Jey Uso as WWE security proved to be as useless as ever, with a match between the two brothers now looking likely to take place at WrestleMania 40.

Although there was no title change on Raw, WrestleVotes has reported that multiple people within WWE believed Jey was winning the Intercontinental Championship on Raw. As late as two hours before Raw, show rundowns reportedly listed that a title change would be happening.

"Hearing an interesting story we hope to follow up on with more tomorrow… source states there were multiple people within the company under the impression Jey Uso was winning the IC title tonight on RAW. I'm told that as late as 6pm, this was the direction on various show rundowns within the creative and digital department," WrestleVotes tweeted.

Jey Uso has never held a singles championship in WWE but he has made it clear over the past several months that he wants to win the Intercontinental Title.
