New Japan Pro-Wrestling will look to expand their fan base in 2024 as the promotion aims to move into new markets.

Speaking with Inside The Ropes, NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi noted the company are very happy with their US events but they are going to put more work into expanding in Asia.

"The scale and scope of our events in the US lately is something we're really happy with and we want to maintain that, but from this year, New Japan is going to put a lot effort into our expansion in Asia and you'll see that become an area of major growth for us in my opinion," Tanahashi said.

This comes after the formation of the Asia-Pacific Federation of Wrestling in early 2024 that will see NJPW work with China's DFW, Taiwan's PUZZLE, Thailand's Setup, and Singapore's GrappleMax. The federation was founded with the aim of "broadening professional wrestling across Asia and worldwide"

New Japan will hold an event in Taipei, Taiwan as part of the new partnership in April.

NJPW have continued to retain an influence in the United States through their own events and the working relationship with All Elite Wrestling. NJPW will hold Windy City Riot at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago on Friday, April 12 and the show will feature Tetsuya Naito vs. Jon Moxley, Mustafa Ali vs. Hiromu Takahashi and more.

As of WrestleTix's last count, 4,969 tickets had been distributed for the event.
