Some more details have emerged regarding former WWE employee Janel Grant's lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis and WWE.

In an update, Fightful Select noted that the belief within WWE is that one of the unnamed executives referenced in the suit is 'long gone' from the company.

It added that one source (described as a longtime WWE employee) saw Laurinaitis' decision to be more outspoken against McMahon coming. The former Talent Relations head was viewed as McMahon's 'fall guy' since the summer of 2022 - with an assumed golden parachute payment taking care of him financially - but the prospect of charges being filed was a turning point.

Another source was quoted as saying, "I'm sure he thinks he’s doing himself favours by saying management knew and proper WWE protocols were followed, but too many things happened there under his watch".

Laurinaitis recently suggested that WWE executives were aware of the late Ashley Massaro's claim that she had been raped and sodomized by a member of the US Military at an army base while on a goodwill tour of Kuwait in 2006, despite the company denying knowledge of such a claim following her death in 2019.

Per Fightful's report, current WWE talent they have spoken to have not been briefed about what they can and cannot speak about with regards to the lawsuit in interviews. Talent from other US-based companies have been told they are allowed to speak about issues or participate in the investigation if they so desire.

Finally, one former WWE talent is weighing their options before deciding if they wish to share their story with the media or pursue legal action.
