Backstage News On WWE Raw Segment Between CM Punk, Drew McIntyre & Seth Rollins

Coming out of one of the most critically regarded episodes of WWE Raw in quite some time, many fans were dissecting the incredible promo segment between CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins.

The three men had their best verbal boxing gloves on, and sparred on the mic, the segment notable for feeling looser than the usual tightly scripted WWE promos, with all three men talking over one another and seemingly ad-libbing little jabs.

However, a report from Fightful Select states that WWE sources have claimed the segment was ‘generally outlined’ with it known that the talent involved were just going to ‘go for it and see what happens’. WWE were apparently blindsided by CM Punk’s cursing, following on from a reported backstage memo discouraging talent from swearing on air.

Adam Pearce was listed internally as the producer of the segment, and further reports indicate there were no issues backstage as a result of the promo.

Whilst Punk may not be cleared to compete at WrestleMania, his shadow will loom large over the World Heavyweight Championship match, with the ‘Second City Saint’ set to join the commentary team for the bout.
