Update On Ridge Holland After Being Moved To WWE Alumni Page
Did Ridge Holland Retire On WWE NXT?
Mar 27, 2024
Ridge Holland announced he will be "stepping away" from WWE NXT "indefinitely" on the Tuesday, March 26 edition of NXT. Holland noted in a promo on the show that he is tired of taking his work home and it is in the best interest of his family for him to walk away. Holland has since been moved to the alumni section of the WWE.com roster page.
Holland's announcement comes after he has suffered a crisis of confidence, with WWE using Big E's real-life broken neck and a kayfabe injury to Ilja Dragunov in December as part of the storyline. Holland has been in a programme with Shawn Spears in recent weeks which culminated with a win for the former AEW talent on last week's NXT.
Although Holland effectively announced his retirement on WWE NXT, the whole situation is simply part of Holland's current storyline and not an official retirement for the former Rugby League player, Corey Brennan of Fightful Select has reported. Holland has been pushing to do the story and there has been no pushback from WWE creative or talent despite some fan opposition to the angle.
The storyline is expected to play out as originally planned. There is no word on when Holland will be back on WWE TV.
