While several returns were announced ahead of the Women's Royal Rumble - including appearances from Lita, Kelly Kelly, Summer Rae and Mickie James to name a few - WWE still had several surprises for fans.

The first surprise was revealed straight away as Melina entered the Rumble at #2, competing in a WWE ring for the first time since 2011.

The four-time WWE Women's Champion didn't last long in the match, though, as she was eliminated after mere seconds by Sasha Banks.

Cameron also returned in the Rumble, becoming involved in Naomi and Sonya Deville's feud as the WWE official eliminated the former Funkadactyl, which prompted Naomi to exact revenge when she made her own entrance.

Alicia Fox, Sarah Logan and Mighty Molly also made short appearances in the Women's Rumble, being eliminated by The Bella Twins and Nikki A.S.H respectively.

60-year-old Ivory was another entrant, reviving her Right To Censor gimmick for the match as she proclaimed all women should look after their families. All Ivory received, though, was a pat on the head from Rhea Ripley before The Nightmare dumped her over the top rope.

Another returning star went on to win the Women's Rumble. Find out who here.
