Luke Harper trademarked "Brodie Lee" before leaving WWE at the end of last year, and the former Revival members made sure to claim ownership of a few of their associated terms. Recently-released WWE veteran Zack Ryder has gone down that same path.
The real life Matthew Cardona trademarked the phrases "Alwayz Ready" and "Internet Champion" on April 21, according to a filing.
The filing reads, "IC 025. US 022 039. G & S: Bandanas; Hats; Hooded sweatshirts; Pants; Shirts; Sweatshirts
IC 041. US 100 101 107. G & S: Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestler and sports entertainer in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes."
Cardona used "Alwayz Ready" as a social media hashtag later in his WWE run, and the phrase appears on some of his merchandise that's available on Pro Wrestling Tees.
The "Internet Champion" tag is a reference to a non-canon belt that Ryder held on his popular internet series, Z! True Long Island Story, earlier this decade.
