With 2023 on the horizon, some wrestling fans are already starting to talk of WrestleMania 39, however WWE are thinking one year further, having announced the logo for WrestleMania 40 in 2024.

Jerry Lawler revealed the logo during WWE Extreme Rules on October 8, with Philadelphia playing host to both Extreme Rules 2022 and WrestleMania on April 6 and April 7, 2024. Taking place in Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field, the WrestleMania logo features Philly’s famous Liberty Bell, with Wrestlemania being marketed as ‘WrestleMania XL’ with Roman numerals returning to the WrestleMania logo for the first time since WrestleMania XXX in 2014.

This will also be the first WrestleMania explicitly advertised with a numerical value since WrestleMania XXX, with the proceeding Mania events omitting the number from official advertisements and broadcasts, with the upcoming 2023 edition marketed as ‘WrestleMania Goes Hollywood’ for example.

The dropping of WrestleMania’s number was reportedly a Vince McMahon whim, with the former WWE CEO reportedly concerned with it making the WrestleMania brand sound ‘old’. WrestleMania XL will be the first 'Mania held in Philadelphia since WrestleMania XV in 1999, an event headlined by Austin vs. The Rock I for the WWF Championship.
