Physical media of WWE events looks like it's phasing out, based on a new report from Wrestling DVD Network.

The site reported Friday that WWE will no longer offer DVD and Blu-Ray releases beginning in 2022. The last physical release will be the 2021 Survivor Series, which goes on sale December 28. A Drew McIntyre compilation set is due for release on December 14.

The report goes on to say that this will also likely end further releases in Canada and Australia as well. In the UK, however, releases for both Day 1 and Royal Rumble are scheduled through Fremantle, which handles physical media releases in the region.

This will end a 36 year run of WWE releasing specific events and various compilations on physical media. The company entered into the home video market in 1985 with Coliseum Video, which handled the company's video releases for over 12 years before it was renamed to WWF/E Home Video beginning in the late nineties. The first DVD to be released through the company was WrestleMania 15 in 1999.
