Since WWE Backstage premiered on November 5, 2019, the show has provided numerous updates on signings and extensions within the company. They confirmed that John Morrison had agreed to return to the company and that all three members of the New Year had agreed to multi-year extensions.

On last night's episode, Ryan Satin confirmed that Elias had agreed to a new multi-year deal with the company, meaning WWE will continue to stand for Walk With Elias for years to come.

After moving from NXT to the main roster in April 2017, The Drifter has been one of the most popular Superstars on WWE TV. He regularly gains loud crowd reactions during his performances on SmackDown, in which he basks in his own musical glory.

After suffering an ankle injury back in September, Elias returned on the November 29 episode of SmackDown as a babyface. This started a mini programme with Drake Maverick which ended a week later after The Drifter repeatedly spanked him. Since then, Elias has been regularly featured on TV and even confirmed he will be part of the Men's Royal Rumble match in a song on last week's episode of SmackDown.
