WWE SmackDown Sees Sharp Viewership Increase For "Throwback" Show

WWE SmackDown's special "Throwback" edition garnered the best overnight numbers in some time, and were up drastically from the overnight viewership of last week's card.
Per Showbuzz Daily, the May 7 SmackDown averaged 2,157,000 viewers, up 234,000 viewers (12 percent) from last week's overnight viewership of 1,923,000.
SmackDown averaged 2,147,000 viewers for hour one, and 2,166,000 viewers for hour two.
Adjusted numbers (with delayed viewership factored in) will be released Monday.
SmackDown was up in 18-49, scoring a .60 demo rating. This made SmackDown number one for the night on network TV in that demo.
SmackDown was also number one in 18-34, netting a .40 rating. Both demo numbers were up from .50 and .30 last week, respectively.
In fact, all of SmackDown's demos and shares were up from last week, save for Adults 50+, which equaled last week's 3 share.
The most drastic difference was in Men 18-49, which went from a 4 share last week to a 5.5 this week.
The program also managed to defeat several network shows in the 25-54 demo, including NBC's 9 PM airing of Dateline NBC, ABC's 9 pm airing of 20/20, and NBC's The Blacklist.
