WWE Signs The Undertaker To New Legends Deal

WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker has signed a new legends deal with the company, according to a new report.

PWInsider Elite noted that the word going around at WWE's television tapings this week was that the 59-year-old had put pen to paper on a new deal.

Furthermore, the deal was close to being finalised around WrestleMania and may have been completed at that time. The Deadman was certainly involved in festivities during WrestleMania weekend.

First, he helped induct Muhammad Ali into the WWE Hall of Fame during the ceremony on Friday, April 5. Then, in the main event of WrestleMania Sunday, he interfered and hit The Rock with a chokeslam, which ultimately ended up helping Cody Rhodes defeat Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Mark Calaway also brought his 1 deadMAN SHOW to Philadelphia the night before the Hall of Fame.

Though he played his part in the WrestleMania main event, The Undertaker was not the original choice for the spot. According to The Wrestling Observer, WWE had originally attempted to get Steve Austin to make an appearance but the two sides couldn't come to terms.

Despite officially retiring from in-ring action in a ceremony at Survivor Series 2020, Calaway revealed that he recently had to talk himself out of making a comeback.
