WWE have agreed to an international streaming deal with Disney that will see Disney+ Hotstar become the exclusive home of the WWE Network in Indonesia.

Beginning on January 30, major WWE events will be available on the service as part of a standard subscription and programming will be available in Indonesia's local language, Bahasa Indonesia, and English.

The deal could be the prelude to further agreements between the two organisations and Deadline reported: "the companies are understood to have held preliminary discussions for other territories."

Speaking about the new deal with Disney, Khan called the company "the gold standard in creating iconic intellectual property that serves as the backbone for international business growth."

The Disney deal is similar to the $1 billion deal WWE struck with NBCUniversal last year that saw the WWE Network in the United States migrate to the Peacock streaming service.

WWE President Nick Khan said in 2021 that WWE were looking to sell their streaming rights to territories outside of the United States and he noted in November "conversations" were ongoing about the company's plan for the WWE Network in the United Kingdom.
