Kane (Glenn Jacobs) has announced his intention to run for a second term as Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.

Jacobs confirmed in a social media post on Monday that he would be submitting the paperwork required to run for re-election, having also named a campaign treasurer. The Republican primary will be held on Tuesday 3 May, 2022, while the general election will take place on Thursday 4 August, 2022.

Writing in his social media post, Jacobs said: "It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve as Knox County Mayor. Today, I am announcing that I will seek re-election. I would appreciate your support and your vote."

Jacobs narrowly won the Republican primary in 2018, seeing off Brad Anders by just 0.04% of the vote, but comfortably beat Democratic opponent Linda Haney to be elected Mayor.

Jacobs, as Kane, was last seen in a WWE ring at the Royal Rumble 2021, where he was eliminated by Damien Priest. He would confirm that he was donating his pay for the appearance to the Knox County Mayor’s Applied Technology Scholarship Fund for TCAT.
