Another Team 3D reunion was set up at TNA Slammiversary on Sunday, July 20, but D-Von Dudley/Brother Devon was nowhere to be seen at the pay-per-view.

The reunion was established following The Hardys' TNA World Tag Team Title win at the pay-per-view as Bully Ray interrupted Matt and Jeff and challenged them to face Team 3D at Bound for Glory in what would be the "last great tag team match."

Some questioned why D-Von was not at Slammiversary to be a part of the angle, but Bully Ray has since revealed the reason behind his kayfabe brother's absence.

"I wish my brother was by my side last night, but he had a very important family matter that he just couldn't get out of. We talked, and we both felt that last night was just too important to miss - like catching lightning in a bottle. We wanted to make a big surprise happen, and D-Von will definitely be there at Bound for Glory in Boston," Bully Ray said on Busted Open Radio.

The Dudley Boyz have teamed together since 1997 across WWE, ECW, TNA, and NJPW. Their most recent match together took place at an indy show in April 2024.
