WWE Reportedly Release Trademark on Chelsea Green's Name

WWE have reportedly released the trademark on the name 'Chelsea Green'.
Green was released by WWE earlier this year amid ongoing budget cuts within the promotion. The former NXT and SmackDown superstar has since returned to wrestling in IMPACT Wrestling and has been booked to appear at ROH Empowerrr later this month.
Chelsea Green is the wrestler's legal name and performed under it during her time in WWE, leading to the company trademarking it upon her main roster debut and signing a new contract in November 2020.
However, with Green leaving WWE, she took to social media over the weekend to reveal she was entering into a legal battle with the company due to them holding the trademark.
Fightful Select is now reporting that WWE made contact with Green on Sunday to inform her they would be releasing the trademark on her name, meaning Green can perform and compete under her legal birthname going forward.
Green also confirmed this information to Fightful Select and said she would be offering more information on her podcast, Green With Envy, in the near future.
