WWE Planning To Renew Talks With Multiple Free Agents
Multiple free agents to renew talks with WWE
Dec 19, 2023
There could be multiple new WWE signings in early 2024.
According to Fightful Select, WWE are planning to renew talks with multiple free agents following the new year. There is no word on which talents WWE are planning to speak with but there reportedly had been no talks between WWE and Mercedes Moné as of December 18. WWE had indicated being interested in bringing back Mercedes Moné in the past and the previous working plans between Moné and All Elite Wrestling were no longer in play.
WWE held talks with multiple free agents in the first half of 2023 but the company was amidst a hiring freeze at the time due to the organisation being up for sale and then WWE working on the merger with UFC under TKO that was completed in September.
Talent WWE held talks with at the time included Jay White and Tama Tonga and the company also held interest in Hikuleo. Jay White signed a long-term deal with AEW, while Tama Tonga ended up remaining a part of New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Hikuleo is also still a part of NJPW.
NJPW contracts typically expire at the end of January, though, so Tama Tonga may well be a free agent in the new year. Kazuchika Okada is also reportedly open to exploring his options but he is not expected to sign with WWE.
