It appears it's official - King Corbin is no more.

The former King Of The Ring seems to no longer be recognised in WWE as that particular title holder, with the 'King' part of his name being taken away. WWE.com now lists 'The Lone Wolf' simply as 'Baron Corbin' on their roster page.

In a further indication that Corbin's days as royalty are over, his Twitter handle has been altered from 'THE KING' to 'THE KING IS DEAD'.

Corbin lost his crown to Shinsuke Nakamura on the 18 July episode of SmackDown in a Battle for the Crown. Nakamura then had his official coronation as king this past Friday and, during that segment, a bitterly disappointed Corbin was shown watching backstage.

An attempt to get an interview with him later in the show by Kayla Braxton led to Corbin proclaiming 'what's the point?', before walking off. Later, in a WWE Network Exclusive, a despondent Corbin commented in a short interview that he'd lost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and 'he was a wealthy man, but now...'

With Corbin dropping the 'King' aspect of the character he's held in WWE for September 2019, it appears a character change is on the cards for Corbin.
