The rivalry between Candice LeRae and Tegan Nox continued on last week's NXT as The Poison Pixie laid out her former friend backstage and rammed a production cart into her knee.

The segment was seemingly to weave a legitimate knee injury into their feud as WWE confirmed Nox has suffered a torn ACL.

WWE NXT tweeted: "BREAKING NEWS: Following an attack from @CandiceLeRae before the #WWENXT #BattleRoyal last week, @TeganNoxWWE_ has suffered a torn ACL."

Triple H noted during the NXT TakeOver: 31 media call that Tegan has since undergone surgery to repair her ACL.

"Tegan does indeed have a torn ACL that required surgery and has already been had," he said. "Unfortunate, but one thing I know about Tegan is she's had a really bad run of injury luck and it just is what it is in our business. But I know she is an unbelievably strong person, an unbelievably strong athlete and a phenomenal performer. And if anybody can return from this it will be her and I can't wait for that day because she's an amazing potential that I feel like every time we get started something unfortunate happens. But we will get there."

This is the third time Nox has torn her ACL since signing with WWE. She was originally set to debut during the inaugural Mae Young Classic but she tore the ligament ahead of the tournament. She returned on April 18, 2018, but suffered a second tear during the 2018 Mae Young Classic in a match against Rhea Ripley.
