A WWE prospect is an Olympic gold medallist

WWE’s NIL program has brought aboard many talented athletes across multiple fields into the performance centre, readying them for a different career path in professional wrestling. One of those is Masai Russell, who was part of the inaugural Next In Line class for WWE, signing in 2021.
Last night was the biggest of her career, winning a gold medal in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She took first place in the women’s 100m hurdles in a time of 12.33 seconds, scraping the victory by just 0.01 seconds. Russell holds the 4th fastest recorded time in history in this track event, and WWE wasted no time in touting her success. Chief Content Officer Triple H took to X to congratulate Russell on her achievement.
“Huge congrats to inaugural #WWENIL class member Masai Russell on taking home Olympic gold in the 100m hurdles.”
The 24 year old USA Olympian managed to beat hometown French name Cyrena Samba-Mayela and Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn to the gold medal in what was a tight photo finish. If she goes on to become a WWE superstar one day, expect WWE to make light of her gold medal victory.
