WWE Expressed Interest In Former NWA Talent
A former NWA talent was on WWE’s radar

The good thing about the wrestling business being in a healthy state is that there are plenty of places for people to work, but for many the pinnacle of the industry remains WWE.
Since the 1980s, WWE have looked all over the pro wrestling landscape for talent, and despite the NIL Programme and expansion of the WWE Performance Center the company still scouts far and wide.
One talent who was on WWE’s radar was former NWA TV Champion and former IMPACT star Zicky Dice, with WWE reportedly taking an active interest in Dice in 2020, per a report from Haus of Wrestling.
Per the report, Paul Heyman - then Executive Director of WWE Raw - reached out to Dice in 2020 asking if he wanted to live in “the real world or fantasy land”, with it suggested that Heyman was asking Dice if he had interest in a behind the scenes or in-ring career moving forward.
The call came ‘out of the blue’ and was whilst NWA was at its recent hottest, with interest in the brand sky high due to Powerrr. Dice was under contract to NWA, but asked for his release in the wake of the Speaking Out movement, with then NWA Vice President Dave Lagana implicated as part of the investigations. When Dice eventually received his exit from NWA, Heyman was no longer Executive Director of Raw, and Dice made his way to IMPACT Wrestling instead after talks with WWE fizzled out.
Dice finished up with IMPACT in Summer 2023, and has since made a handful of appearances for NWA and ROH.
