A former WWE executive seemingly won't be missed within the company.

WWE held mass layoffs following the company's merger with UFC and over 100 employees were fired by the organisation last week, including the likes of Dana Warrior and Amanda Bloom.

WWE Executive Vice President of Development and Digital Jamie Horowitz was also fired, which came as a surprise to some as he was brought in by now-WWE President Nick Khan in June 2021 after working for DAZN.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Horowitz was not well-liked within WWE.

"Jamie Horowitz was let go. He was the biggest name. He was one of Nick Khan's first major hires off of DAZN when Nick Khan was stripping DAZN. There was a lot of negativity when he was hired, a lot of women employees, because of his rep from ESPN, were not happy. He wasn't well-liked in WWE from what I understand, but he was a major exec," Meltzer stated.

WWE held an all-employee meeting on Tuesday, September 19 following the mass layoffs. Vince McMahon spoke at the meeting and claimed he sold WWE due to the company stagnating, a comment that led to eye rolls amongst employees.
