A big WWE Superstar has signed a new contract with the promotion, according to PWInsider Elite.

Although currently sidelined after undergoing knee surgery, Asuka is said to have extended her time with WWE. Her last match came at Backlash France in May, where she teamed with Damage CTRL stablemate Kairi Sane to drop the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship to Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill.

Asuka first signed with WWE in 2015 after a successful career on the Japanese women's wrestling scene. She has gone on to collect many accolades within the company, including multiple reigns with the WWE Women's Championship, an undefeated NXT title run, and a victory in the inaugural women's Royal Rumble match.

Sean Ross Sapp recently reported that Asuka would likely not return to action in 2024.

In terms of Damage CTRL, Kairi Sane was injured on last night's episode of Raw - although the severity of the incident is yet to be confirmed. Sane collided with the announce table during a dive to the outside and is said to have received stitches backstage from the medical team.
