Tonight’s edition of WWE Raw (July 31, 2023) will take place from Houston, Texas’ Toyota Center, but it looks like WWE are set to be without a major star for the show.

As reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Drew McIntyre will be absent from Raw, with ‘IRN DRU’ filming an outside project:

“Also, Drew McIntyre is doing the movie he was doing two weeks ago. I believe he’s in Budapest, Hungary, right now. If not, he will be tomorrow. So, he won’t be there on Raw,” revealed Meltzer.

It was revealed earlier this month that the former WWE Champion had been cast in the movie The Killer’s Game, with McIntyre set to feature alongside stars Dave Bautista, Ice Cube, and Sir Ben Kingsley.

McIntyre only just returned to WWE at Money in the Bank on July 1, putting an end to speculation regarding Drew’s immediate future, with contract talks between Drew and WWE earlier in 2023 stalling to the point where some expected McIntyre to leave the company. His contract is reportedly still set to expire in early 2024 but injury time could keep him with WWE beyond WrestleMania 40.
