It was a conscious decision...

The Undertaker has one of the most iconic entrances in WWE history. When the lights go out and the bell tolls, everyone in attendance and watching from home knows what to expect and it only adds to the aura The Deadman emits whenever he steps inside a WWE ring.

We may not see a long 'Taker entrance for some time, however, as The Phenom revived his American Badass persona at WrestleMania 36 and Mark Calaway has been front and centre in recent months because of The Last Ride documentary on the WWE Network.

'Taker recently sat down for an interview on the Pardon My Take podcast and discussed a myriad of topics including why some of his entrances take longer than others. The seven-time world champion revealed there were times he would make the entrance a little longer because he thought he was going to have a bad match but still wanted to give the fans their money's worth.

He said: "So, a lot of times that would just depend on my opponent. Like, if I was working with somebody that was pretty limited or I thought I was going to have just a really s****y match with, I was like, 'Man, I'm going to get my money's worth out of this entrance.' So yeah, there were times that I would take a little bit extra time because I knew the match was going to be horrible, so I figured might as well give it to them on the entrance because they're going to be disappointed once this bell rings."
