On Friday Night SmackDown's premiere on FOX, Kofi Kingston defended his WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar. The match was over as soon as it began, with Lesnar hitting Kingston with the F-5 and pinning him in seven seconds.

Many wrestling fans were angry about the way Kofi's title reign ended, and so was Big E.

During their recent appearance on the After The Bell podcast

, Big E explained: "I was irate when I found out about it." He did acknowledge, however, that the strength of Kofi's personality helped them all come to terms with it, praising his Tag Team partner for being able to move past the situation and not have "sour grapes."

Kofi himself is somewhat at peace with having lost the WWE Championship, and is just looking to move forward with his career. While he admits he wasn't thrilled at losing the title in seven seconds, he said: "It is what it is. You show up at work and you find out what you're doing, and you do it." Kingston added: "For me personally, I've always approached this business as somebody who is trying to move forward. You can't dwell on one day. There's been a lot of days that have been negative, but if you dwell on those you'll be miserable. You won't want to come to work, and for me, I'm just trying to push forward."

Many in the wrestling world have been clamouring for Kofi to be given a rematch, particularly with how common rematches are in WWE. Kingston himself however doesn't believe it makes sense, especially having been defeated in such a decisive fashion. He explained: "The reality is on screen I'm a good guy who lost in eight seconds. So as as far as making a case for a rematch, what would my character have to say?"
