Shawn Michaels has admitted he now regrets making the decision to unretire and participate in the WWE Crown Jewel tag-team match between D-Generation X and The Brothers Of Destruction in Saudi Arabia, because of how The Undertaker was looking at the contest.

Michaels retired from wrestling at WrestleMania 26 in 2010 after a fantastic match against The Undertaker but was convinced to return for one more contest, in which he teamed with best friend Triple H against 'Taker and Kane in November 2018.

Despite how poorly the match was received, and with all four participants admitting it didn't go well, Michaels maintained he had no regrets about returning as it presented an opportunity to perform one final time alongside some of his closest friends in the business.

However, Mark 'Undertaker' Calaway would admit during an interview for 'The Last Ride' docuseries that, had the match come off in the way they wanted it to, he may have decided to retire after the tag-team bout.

Had Michaels been privy to that information, his decision to be involved in the match might have been different.

“I do," Michaels told the New York Post when asked if he regretted coming out of retirement. "I had no idea that from Mark’s standpoint he was looking at it as that might be one he could walk away on.

“That’s something that I think to myself now, ‘oh my goodness I wish that I’d have known that.'

“For me it was [fun]. It was just a chance to be with my buddies.”
