Sami Zayn recently appeared on Les anti-pods de la lutte to discuss numerous topics, one being a dream match he'd have loved to have wrestled.
Zayn revealed that he'd actually pitched a storyline recently to WWE creative involving Jeff Hardy, explaining: “I had spoken with creative about a storyline with Jeff Hardy. Jeff was one of my heroes when I was a teenager. He was one of my biggest inspirations when I started. My idea was to have a ladder match against him at WrestleMania. I had a big storyline planned in my head, but unfortunately, two weeks after speaking with creative about it, he was fired.”
Hardy was released from his WWE contract in December 2021 following unusual behaviour at a live event, in which he left the ring before the finish of a tag match and climbed into the crowd.
Matt Hardy recently defended his brother on Twitch, stating that WWE made Jeff undergo a drug test and were reluctant to return the results to him - which Matt clarifies were negative.
