This past weekend was a historic one for Roman Reigns.

WWE announced on Sunday that Reigns' Universal Title reign had entered its 504th day, passing Brock Lesnar's previous record of 503 days from WrestleMania 33 until SummerSlam 2018.

The Big Dog's current run as Universal Champion is also WWE's longest world title reign for decades, with no champion having passed 504 days since Hulk Hogan's first WWF Championship reign between 1984 and 1988.

Following his return at the 2020 edition of SummerSlam, Reigns aligned with Paul Heyman and defeated The Fiend and Braun Strowman at Payback one week later to capture the Universal Title. He has since successfully defended the gold against the likes of Kevin Owens, Edge, Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Cesaro, Rey Mysterio, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, Finn Balor and the aforementioned Lesnar.

Reigns will now look to continue his reign as champion at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on January 29 when he defends the title against his former SHIELD faction-mate Seth Rollins.
