Rey Mysterio says the opportunity to work with his son, Dominik, in WWE has given him a 'second wind'.

Dominik made his in-ring debut in WWE last Summer, having appeared reasonably frequently on WWE television since late 2019. The father and son duo are now SmackDown Tag Team champions, having defeated Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode for the Titles at WrestleMania Backlash.

With Mysterio set to face Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship inside Hell In A Cell on Friday Night SmackDown, the Master Of The 619 has credited his son's emergence as a new star on the blue brand as helping to extend his own career.

Speaking to the Independent, Mysterio said: I think I got my second wind when my son jumped in the ring.

“It happened so fast and, due to that, I am really experiencing a great moment right now – to be able to share the ring and create history together. It takes my focus off my injuries and off my tiredness, and that just pushes and motivates me to keep going.

"So right now, I have no idea when my body is going to say, ‘I tap out!’"
