Report: WWE Wants To Do "Something Different" For Royal Rumble 2021

At the 2020 Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns defeated King Corbin in a Falls Count Anywhere Match, "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt retained the Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan and Edge returned after nine years during the Men's Royal Rumble. Over 42,000 people filled Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas to watch the show.
A spectacle on the scale of 2020 likely won't be possible at next year's Royal Rumble because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. WWE is working on "something different" for the big four pay-per-view, though, according to WrestleVotes. What that "something different" is was not revealed.
The company also reportedly wants fans in attendance for the Rumble, even if it's just for one show.
WrestleVotes tweeted: "Big day for voting, go vote. But this is WrestleVOTES so... Regardless of the next location for the ThunderDome, it is expected to last into February. However, WWE is working on something different for the Royal Rumble event. They want fans, even if it’s just for that one show."
