Report: WWE Wanted To Book Lana For The Royal Rumble
No Lana in the Rumble, though
Jan 31, 2022
WWE saved plenty of surprises for the Women's Royal Rumble on Saturday and outside of advertised appearances from The Bella Twins, Kelly Kelly, Summer Rae and others, the likes of Ivory, Alicia Fox and Sarah Logan were revealed as mystery entrants in the match.
WWE tried to bring in several other former talents for the Rumble, though, and the company were interested in using Lana in the Women's match, according to Fightful Select.
Lana wasn't seen in St. Louis ahead of the pay-per-view, though, and she ultimately didn't make an appearance in the Women's Rumble.
Lana previously worked in WWE as a manager and in-ring talent from 2013 until her release in June 2021.
Two other names WWE reportedly tried to bring back for the Rumble were IMPACT Wrestling's Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay - formerly Peyton Royce and Billie Kay of The IIconics. The tag team didn't think it was the right time for them to make an appearance in WWE, though, as they are happy with their "current path" in IMPACT.
Lee and McKay debuted in IMPACT at Bound For Glory in 2021 and they are currently the Knockouts Tag Team Champions.
