WWE Draft

While it appeared a WWE Draft would be taking place after the Clash At The Castle pay-per-view on September 3, that is seemingly no longer the case.

Raw talents had previously been scheduled for the post-Clash At The Castle edition of SmackDown but those wrestlers have since been pulled from the show, Fightful Select reported. USA Network sources have also told WWE talent that the draft won't be taking place in the immediate future. After WrestleMania 39 has instead been stated as a likely point to mix up the rosters. Despite this, USA Network do not have an internal date listed for an upcoming draft.

WWE have traditionally held a draft annually to change up the Raw and SmackDown rosters. It was often held after WrestleMania but it has taken place in the autumn in recent years which has led to talents having to fight at Survivor Series for the honour of the brand they have only just joined.

Why exactly plans for a draft have been put on the back-burner is unknown but major changes have taken place within WWE over the last month since Vince McMahon announced his retirement on July 22. Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan are now Co-CEOs of the company, while Triple H is head of creative and Executive Vice President of Talent Relations.
