Outside of hosting a special edition of the KO Show on the October 18 episode of NXT, Kevin Owens has largely been absent from WWE TV.

The former Universal Champion was seemingly set to kickstart a feud with Roman Reigns, repeatedly telling Sami Zayn to remind Reigns that he owes him one due to Owens being screwed out of the Universal Title at Royal Rumble 2021. A feud has yet to begin, though, with Reigns instead defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Logan Paul at Crown Jewel on November 5.

According to WrestleVotes, WWE's plans for Owens are currently "on pause" due to the popularity of Sami Zayn's addition to The Bloodline. The original plan was for Zayn to link up with Owens after a few weeks and while that pairing is still planned, their reunion has been pushed back for the time being.

"He was pegged to get involved with Sami and The Bloodline, but that's white-hot right now. Those plans from what I've been told are definitely pushed back, but they're not off, because the plan is for Kevin Owens to be with Sami Zayn. Whatever they had planned for Kevin Owens is totally on pause because this stuff with Sami doesn't come around often. This was supposed to be a little three, four-week comedy deal, and it's getting big," WrestleVotes told GiveMeSport.

When Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will reunite ultimately remains to be seen but many have speculated they will defeat The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 39 in April 2023.
