The coronavirus pandemic has caused major disruption to WWE and its programming. The company has been taping episodes of Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida for a number of weeks, and they haven't held a house show since March 7.
WWE has put preliminary plans in place to start touring again on June 12, according to a report from Chris Featherstone at WrestlingRumors.net. The April 10 episode of SmackDown at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio has been rescheduled to June 12 and Featherstone spoke to a local ticket representative who said the company still plans to hold the show on the scheduled date.
WWE.com also states this is the date the company plans to go back on the road as the show is being advertised along with NXT house shows. The June 27 live event at Madison Square Garden is also scheduled to go ahead as planned, as is the July 2 house show in Osaka, Japan.
Whether or not WWE is forced to reschedule the June 12 episode of SmackDown remains to be seen. Governor of Ohio Mike DeWine announced plans to reopen the state from May 1 but he reminded people that mass gatherings are low on the priority list.
