WWE are reportedly planning to have Rey Mysterio challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at Hell In A Cell later this month.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has confirmed that the promotion is building towards a big Title match between The Ultimate Underdog and The Tribal Chief on Sunday 20 June.

WWE began building towards a match between the two this past week on Friday Night SmackDown after Rey and son Dominik twice defended their Tag Team Titles against Reigns' cousins, The Usos.

After it appeared Jimmy Uso had got his shoulder up before the three-count in the initial Championship match, which opened last week's show, the bout was run again in the main event, only for Reigns to interfere and attack the Mysterios.

The Head Of The Table would then unleash a savage attack on Dominik in the ring, while Jey and Jimmy watched on, continuing the developing tensions between the family as well.

Other matches already confirmed for Hell In A Cell include Drew McIntyre vs. Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship, Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women's Championship and Bianca Belair vs. Bayley for the SmackDown Women's Title.
