Report: WWE Not Planning To Resume Touring In First Half Of 2021
ThunderDome remains the plan for the foreseeable future
Mar 25, 2021
Over one year after the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic forced WWE to stop touring, fans will attend a main roster show once again and both nights of WrestleMania 37 will take place in front of 25,000 people.
Plenty of tickets have been sold for The Showcase Of The Immortals and those planning to attend must agree to a liability waiver.
While WrestleMania 37 will have fans, Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated has reported WWE doesn't plan to resume touring in the first half of 2021.
The company recently announced they will move the ThunderDome to the Yuengling Center on the University of South Florida campus and the plan is to remain there while the company gauges when to resume a live event schedule.
Before the pandemic, WWE used to operate a full-time touring schedule of TV tapings and house shows. Those plans obviously came to an end in March 2020 and the old house show schedule won't be returning. Talent were reportedly told the news during contract negotiations in late 2020 and WWE also laid-off employees from the live events division.
