Report: WWE Extends Thunderdome Residency Beyond October

WWE's deal to broadcast its TV from the Amway Center in Orlando, FL was originally set to lapse at the end of October. However, a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider claims that the organization has secured a deal to run from the "Thunderdome" for an additional four weeks.

WWE has been broadcasting weekly episodes of Raw and SmackDown at the Amway Center, as well as the monthly pay-per-views, since shortly before SummerSlam.

With this report, it looks all but certain that the 2020 Survivor Series will emanate from the Thunderdome, just as every pay-per-view has, beginning with SummerSlam.

Reportedly, the Amway Center is earning $450,000 from WWE for the original terms of residency, beginning with the final SmackDown before SummerSlam, through the end of October. It's unknown what the financial terms are for the reported four week extension.

At the onset of the pandemic, WWE began running all of its weekly programming from their Orlando-based Performance Center. All main roster programs were moved to the Amway Center in August. The Performance Center has since been renovated into the "Capitol Wrestling Center" for NXT use.
