Report: WWE Bringing Back Red Lighting During "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt's Matches

The red lighting during "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt's matches is one of the few things in professional wrestling which is universally detested. Fans in attendance and watching on TV have criticised the red glow for making the in-ring action difficult to see.

Many thought WWE had finally decided to give up on the lighting at the Royal Rumble as The Fiend's Strap match with Daniel Bryan for the Universal Championship did not include any effects, and both Superstars were just allowed to have a wrestling match.

This was seemingly only a one-time thing, however, as

that during a dark match on last week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown between Wyatt and The Miz, the ring was once again bathed in a red glow. Meltzer also noted that he believes Bryan specifically asked for the lighting to be turned off, which is seemingly why it's back again.

For the avoidance of doubt, Meltzer penned: "Wyatt beat Miz to keep the Universal title using the mandible claw. They brought back the red tinting during this match so I guess Bryan asked for it to be removed, they had a great match, and then they brought it back."
