Ahead of WrestleMania 37, Kevin Owens noted he would do his best to jump off the pirate ship inside Raymond James Stadium during The Showcase Of The Immortals. The former Universal Champion had been dreaming about doing the spot since before WrestleMania 36 and he even visited the stadium last year to scout the ship.

The Show Of Shows came and went without a giant KO leap, though, and Owens instead faced Sami Zayn in a singles match on April 11. Fans did witness Owens Stunner Logan Paul as a consolation, however.

Following 'Mania, Superstars and backstage officials reportedly speculated that the inclement weather prevented the jump from happening, but this wasn't the case according to Fightful Select.

Owens discussed doing the jump with WWE creative in the week leading up to the show, but the match with Zayn not being a no disqualification contest was said to be a "big hurdle." The ship on the WrestleMania stage was also much bigger than many expected and the inclement weather was "the final nail in the coffin." Instead, the singles match between Owens and Zayn went ahead as planned without the spot.
