The coronavirus has wreaked havoc in the professional wrestling world in recent days. As of writing, WrestleMania 36 is still scheduled to go ahead, but this week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown will be broadcast from the WWE Performance Center.  AEW has also had to relocate the next two edition's of Dynamite, and Ring Of Honor has cancelled their 18th Anniversary show and Past Vs. Present.

The chaos began after WWE Hall Of Famer President Donald Trump suspended travel from 26 European countries to the United States. Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter the ban will force WWE to cancel Finn Balor vs. WALTER at NXT TakeOver: Tampa. As The Ring General resides in Austria, he will be banned from entering the US unless he stays in the UK or Ireland for 14 days before April 4.

WALTER has been embroiled in a rivalry with The Prince in recent weeks, and Balor faced off against Imperium member Alexander Wolfe on this week's episode of NXT UK. With most of their segments together having already been taped, their feud could be prolonged until NXT UK TakeOver: Dublin on April 26.

For the avoidance of doubt, Meltzer penned: "For WWE, it looks like he Walter vs. Finn Balor match at the planned NXT Takeover show on 4/4 is off, if the show even happens. One of the travel ramifications is that if a non-U.S. citizen or resident has been to EU’s Schengen area (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland) in the past 14 days, they can’t come to the U.S. regardless of the airport they are flying into. So anyone who was in Germany last week, which includes Walter and Alexander Wolfe, wouldn’t be allowed in, unless somehow they find a way around those regulations."
