According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, Vince McMahon intends to make a WWE comeback.

The 77-year-old resigned as WWE Chairman and CEO in disgrace on July 22 amidst a sexual misconduct and hush money scandal. WSJ have reported, though, that McMahon has told people he intends to make a comeback, telling them he received bad advice from those close to him when he decided to step down and he believes the whole scandal would have blown over had he remained with the company.

McMahon has not appeared on any WWE programming, nor has he been involved with the company's operations since his resignation on July 22.  McMahon resigned after reports from the Wall Street Journal revealed he paid $14.6 million to women to "suppress allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity." The payments were made to four women between 2006 and 2022. All of the women signed nondisclosure agreements.

At the time of McMahon's resignation, it was noted his departure was hastened by federal investigations from the SEC and federal prosecutors into the payments.

The Wall Street Journal also reported today that a fresh sexual assault allegation has been made against McMahon, stemming from an alleged incident with a former spa manager in 2011. A lawyer for the spa manager has been in contact with Vince McMahon's attorney. Former WWF referee Rita Chatterton is also demanding $11.75 million in damages after she accused McMahon of raping her in 1986.
