Report: Update On WWE's Plans For Tag Team Title Unification Match

While a six-man tag team match pitting The Bloodline against Drew McIntyre and RK-Bro headlined Sunday's WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view, WWE initially advertised a tag team title unification match for the show despite the company having no plans for the bout to actually take place.

That appeared to change on Monday Night Raw, though, as RK-Bro revealed they would be on Friday Night SmackDown this week to demand a tag team title unification bout.

According to Dave Meltzer, the current plan is for RK-Bro and The Usos to face off in a unification match but the titles won't actually be unified by the end of the contest.

"They are going to do the match but as of right now - and I was also told this can change - they are not planning on actually unifying the titles. But they are planning on doing the match," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.

This suggests WWE will book a finish which doesn't provide fans with a clear winner and the company have plenty of methods at their disposal to avoid a title change.

RK-Bro are currently in their second reign as Raw Tag Team Champions, having regained the gold earlier this year.

The Usos, meanwhile, have been SmackDown Tag Team Champions since Money In The Bank 2021.
