Report: Update On Vince McMahon's Involvement At WWE WrestleMania 39
Vince McMahon’s reported involvement at WWE WrestleMania 39 revealed
Apr 3, 2023
Heading into WWE WrestleMania 39, wrestling fans were presented with the formerly unfathomable prospect of the event being the first Mania ever without Vince McMahon at the helm.
However, with McMahon recently returning to WWE to facilitate a sale before formally being appointed Executive Chairman of the company, the likelihood of McMahon being involved with WrestleMania grew, especially after Vince had been spotted backstage at recent WWE TV tapings.
During the course of WrestleMania weekend, Vince made his presence known during the Hall of Fame ceremony on March 31, and after the controversial finish of Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes in night two’s main event, many fans were pointing the finger of blame squarely at McMahon.
However, a report from PWInsider stated that whilst McMahon was backstage at Mania in a supervisory role, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque was said to have been the man in charge, and was on headset all night running and directing Wrestlemania 39 night one, and it’s assumed night two as well. This echoes reports that McMahon wasn’t involved with the creative decision behind night two’s main event.
Triple H has been in charge of WWE Creative since McMahon’s ‘retirement’ in Summer 2022, with Levesque serving as WWE’s Chief Content Officer.
