Last week it was rumoured that WWE and indie promotion GCW could have a partnership in the works, due to multiple Tweets from GCW President Brett Lauderdale and star Joey Janela heavily praising and promoting WWE Raw.

Lauderdale was the guest of Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 38, and alongside the positive WWE tweets, many assumed there was some semblance of a deal between the two companies. Now, a new report from Fightful Select has attempted to shed more light on the apparently burgeoning relationship between the two promotions.

With Fite+ announcing that multiple indie promotions were set to sign improved deals with the streaming platform - rumoured to be a package deal for multiple promotions set to be announced sometime in November - talk turned to GCW, wondering if the deathmatch centred company would be signing a new deal, prompting a GCW source saying to Fightful "WWE is going to Fite+?”

In follow-ups with WWE, WWE themselves wouldn’t deny any reports of a partnership, but instead said they‘re “in favour of people telling other people to watch WWE Raw.” However, Fightful report that this seems to be nothing more than an elaborate rib by GCW, with no concrete evidence of the two sides actually working with one another.

As for GCW’s streaming future, they are set to reveal their plans on November 1.
